Right and Left Handed Swirls circa Late 1800s
These two 7/8" onionskin swirls were made in Germany in the late 1800s. Notice that one swirls right [clockwise], while the other swirls left. The vast majority of swirls are right-handed, but every once in a while you'll find a lefty.
